Public transport

In Prague there is a very convenient public transport system. All types of transport are strictly scheduled. You can find metro, trams and buses schemes on any tourist map, which you can get free of charge at your hotel or at informational center. Below is the link to the united scheme.

Trams

Tram stop: Zelená

Working hours: from 4:30 to 24:00 with 8-12 minutes interval.
Prague has the largest tram network in the Czech Republic. Daytime lines trams № 1–26. Trams № 51–59 are available at night from 00:00 to 4:30. You can find schedules at all trams stops.
In the center of Prague there is a connected stop which is crossed by all night trams, which helps to get to all districts of the city. The name of connected stop is Lazarská, which is located 10 minutes walk from Vatslavskaya square.

Buses working hours: from 4:30 to 24:00 with 8-15 minutes interval.

Metro

Line: A (Green)
Metro Station: Dejvická
The hotel is 15 minutes from the Dejvická metro station (approx. 900 m), by walking downhill on Jugoslávských partyzánů street.

Metro working hours: from 5:00 to 24:00 with 4-10 minutes regular interval and 2-3 minutes interval during rush hours. Metro working hours on Friday and Saturday are longer for 1 hour till 1:00 am.

Prague Airport - Václav Havel Airport. Terminal № 1 and 2 (PRG)

Prague Airport - Václav Havel is  located 20 km from the city center. Public transport has stops at both terminals. In front of arrivals hall take the bus number 119 towards the stop Dejvicka. Ticket can be purchased directly in the bus (you can ask bus driver) or in the machine at the bus stop. When you get to Dejvick stop take metro line A and go to stations Depo Hostivarzh or Skalka. Follow till Flora station. The hotel is located 5 minutes walk by Yichinska street. It takes you approximately 40 minutes to get from the airport to the Hotel.

Where to buy tickets

1. You can buy any tickets at machines, which are located at any metro station and major tram and bus stops, but only for cash (coins).

2. Tickets for 24 and 32 crowns can also be purchased at newspaper and tobacco shops.
3. You can buy tickets at the box office, any major metro stations at the entrance (if they sell tickets, there will be bright orange poster. If there is no ticket sale, there will be no posters).
4. At DPP info centers at the major metro stations (Muzeum, Anděl, Hlavní nádraží, Nádraží Holešovice). Usually it is a kiosk with red title «Infocentrum DPP».

Fines for ticketless travel in Prague

Firstly you may think that no one in Prague checks tickets: no barriers, no police, no auditors. However it is very misleading. Auditors are usually casually dressed so it is impossible to match them among passengers. If you can pay cash on the spot then fine will be 800 CZK (32 euros). If you do not have cash auditor will give you a receipt for 1000 CZK or EUR 40 (a receipt is required to be paid, otherwise it is unlikely to get Schengen visa next time). After paying fine you should take the confirmation of payment and save it for a year. After fine payment you should buy a ticket at bus driver cabin. If you travel by tram or metro you should leave it (tram and metro drivers do not sell tickets in Prague).

Taxi

It takes about 20 minutes to get from the airport to the city center by taxi.
Taxi is usually used when you want to get to or from the airport and in cases when it is inconvenient to use public transport. There is no regular practice to take taxi in Prague, especially in the center, due to perfect public transport system and because of traffic jams. You can easily recognize taxi car by special light board "Taxi". In the car there is a price list with the exact fares. At the end of the trip the driver will give you printed receipt.

2. Drivers most often take payment for km, not for minutes. Plus for landing and waiting.
