The University mission is to develop into a national leader in three interdisciplinary areas based on breakthrough achievements in biotechnologies and neurotechnologies; materials science and nanotechnology; information and communication technologies; to become a trendsetter in technology; to train internationally competitive professionals.

There are several interdisciplinary priorities within the three major research areas:

  • neurotechnologies;
  • genetic engineering;
  • marine microbiology;
  • nanomaterials;
  • applied engineering technologies;
  • fundamental mathematics and informatics;
  • information security.

The three interdisciplinary areas make it possible to integrate all competitive areas developing at the IKBFU as a classical university. Innovative results have been achieved in these areas.
